While researching topics for our environmental studies capstone in the spring of 2023, my group mates and I noticed that across the years, student projects were proposing the ideas over and over again. We decided to investigate—what was stopping these proposals from coming to fruition? While the rest of my team looked into planning dynamics on campus, I decided to create a tool that could prevent students from continually reinventing the wheel when it came to campus open space projects. I came up with the idea to create a web app that uses a map to display all open space projects that have been proposed by students. I first created the base map and then layered on the projects, corresponding to their proposed locations. The app also connects to a database illustrating all linked projects.
